Stereoscopic library Different from traditional warehouse inventory counting, the inventory counting of the system mainly uses automated equipment and information systems.
The first is to use the warehouse management system (WMS). In daily operation, WMS will record the goods' inbound and outbound information in real time, including the quantity, batch and storage location of goods. During counting, the system can generate an inventory report to display the theoretical inventory quantity and location. The staff can make a preliminary comparison with the actual situation and quickly locate the areas where there may be differences.

Then the auxiliary inventory is carried out with the aid of automated equipment. For example, the stacker can move between the shelves and lanes according to the preset procedure, and identify the goods on each cargo position through the sensors it carries. This identification may be through barcode, two-dimensional code or radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. Take RFID as an example. When goods are put into storage, they are labeled with coded tags. When counting, the RFID reader on the stacker can read the tag information without touching the goods, obtain the goods number, quantity and other data, so as to achieve a fast and accurate counting.
For some goods that are difficult to count through automated equipment, manual intervention may be required. For example, goods with irregular shape or special location. Under the condition that the safety protection measures are in place, the staff can enter the specific area, use manual counting or use portable counting equipment to count, and then enter the data into the system.
After counting, the system will analyze the counting data. If the actual inventory is found to be different from the system record, the reason will be further traced, which may be the wrong registration of goods in and out of the warehouse, damage or loss of goods caused by equipment failure, etc. Through timely inventory check, stereoscopic warehouse can ensure the accuracy of inventory information and improve the efficiency and reliability of warehouse management.
