Automatic guided vehicle (AGV) is an industrial vehicle that loads goods in an automatic or manual manner, automatically drives or drags the truck to a designated location according to the set route, and then loads and unloads goods in an automatic or manual manner. According to the definition of JISD6801 in Japan, AGV is an automatically operated industrial vehicle powered by batteries. Only according to the requirements of automation, flexibility and punctuality of material handling operation, the AGVS system, together with the automatic guidance system, automatic loading and unloading system, communication system, safety system and management system, can play a real role. The continuous development of computer hardware technology, parallel and distributed processing technology, automatic control technology, sensor technology and software development environment provides the necessary technical basis for the research and application of AGV. The development of artificial intelligence technology, such as understanding and searching, task and path planning, fuzzy and neural network control technology, makes AGV develop towards intelligence and autonomy. The research and development of AGV, which integrates artificial intelligence, information processing and image processing, involves computer, automatic control, information communication, mechanical design, electronic technology and other disciplines, and has become one of the hot spots in logistics automation research.
Although the research on AGV has a history of many years, there are still many key technologies that need to be improved and broken through to further improve the performance of AGV, reduce manufacturing costs and use costs
