Building structure and space utilization
From the perspective of space utilization, it is feasible to set up elevated warehouses inside the plant. There is usually a high space inside the factory building. Through reasonable planning, it is possible to build a multi-storey rack type elevated warehouse. This can make full use of the vertical space of the factory building and greatly increase the storage capacity of goods. For example, the factory buildings of some large manufacturing enterprises can reach a height of more than ten meters or even higher. The elevated warehouse is set inside, which can store the raw materials, semi-finished products or finished products originally stacked on the ground in layers, effectively improving the space utilization rate.
However, the bearing capacity of the plant needs to be considered in the building structure. The shelves and goods in the elevated warehouse will bring heavy load to the plant floor and supporting structure. The building structure of the plant needs to be able to withstand these additional weights. If it is a factory building with light steel structure, it may be necessary to strengthen the structure to set up an elevated warehouse safely.
Logistics and Operations
The overhead warehouse in the factory can make the logistics process more compact. After the raw materials enter the plant from the inlet, they can be directly stored in the overhead warehouse through the conveying equipment; In the production process, the required materials can also be easily taken out of the overhead warehouse and transported to the production line. This internal logistics consistency is conducive to reducing material handling time and costs.
At the same time, it is also convenient for inventory management. Warehouse management personnel can more easily monitor the inventory, closely cooperate with the production activities in the plant, and achieve just in time production. For example, through the automated inventory management system and the sensors on the shelves, we can know the storage location and quantity of goods in real time, and better arrange production plans and replenishment plans.
Safety and fire protection
Safety is a factor to be considered when setting up an elevated warehouse inside the plant. Due to the high height of the elevated warehouse, there are certain safety risks in cargo handling and shelf maintenance. It is necessary to set up perfect safety protection facilities, such as guardrails, safety passages, etc.
Fire protection is also critical. The internal space of the plant is relatively closed, and once the elevated warehouse fires, the fire is easy to spread. Sufficient fire-fighting facilities, such as fire sprinkler system, smoke alarm, etc., shall be provided, and the unblocked fire access shall be ensured. In addition, the storage of goods should also meet the fire control requirements, and avoid storing flammable, explosive and other dangerous goods.
